With the death of her mother, a career in the Funeral Industry began in 2008 as a Funeral Celebrant, realizing the importance of honouring her mother’s life in the most dignified and loving manner.

Officiating at several funeral services, this eventually transpired into an opportunity for a full-time career in the funeral industry in 2017. Graduating as a Licensed Funeral Director with the Canadian College of Funeral Services, while employed formerly at Omega Funeral Home with the Nichol Family, until its closing in June 2024.

She has been proud to support, both past and present, a variety of organizations in Portage la Prairie including; the Downtown Business Association, Vice-President for Parent Council Committee PCS, volunteer at the local Soup Kitchen, Board of Director at the William Glesby Centre, Executive Member of the Army Navy Air Force Veteran’s Club, member of the Royal Canadian Legion, past member of the Rotary Club, Marriage Commissioner for the Province of Manitoba since 2001, co-founded the annual concert Voices of the Prairie, co-founded the MB Country Voice Amateur Talent Show, past Board of Director for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and currently a “Little Sister” mentor, proud member of Prairie Players Theatre Group, and an active dance instructor for social dance since 2007.

While helping you through one of the most difficult times you will experience, great pride is taken when caring for families and we will provide you with a beautiful lasting tribute to your loved one.

Helping you to create a personalized ceremony, choosing an ideal resting place, and ensure the memory of your loved one will last for generations. It would be a privilege and honour for Colleen to serve you and your families.
