Roy Dale
Towle
December 18, 1950 – November 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of Roy Dale Towle on November 19th, 2025, at the age of 74 years. Following a brief illness, Roy passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Roy is survived by his son Jason (Evangeline), daughter Nicole (Bruno), his adored grandchildren; Chandelle (Jon), Keaton-Jae (Curtis), Azilyn (Tanner), Jaytey, Oceane (Bethany), Montana (Adam), Emersyn (Brian), Rio, Jero, and great-grandchildren; Lux, Maximus, Ariella and Harlow.
Roy is also survived by his sister Angie, sister Yvonne, brother Ormand, sister Brenda (Doogie), brother Randy, sister Joni (Robbie), brother Carchi (Dawn), sister Karen, sister-in-law Debbie, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Life-long friend Larry Barron and long-time companion Sherry Neal.
Roy was predeceased by his father Dale, mother Hilda and step-father Morley. Also, the Mother of his children and ex-wife Florence, brother Bruce, sister Terry and her husband Carmine.
Born and raised in Portage la Prairie, Roy attended Gainsborough School, North Memorial School, Victoria School and graduated at Portage Collegiate Institute.
Roy started working at a very young age while still in school. After graduating from Portage Collegiate Institute, he went into full time work being employed at Royal Transportation, then onto Romyn & Roy.
Roy ultimately built a career working at McCain Foods for 35 years, with 9 of those years as a Class 1 Highway Transport Driver. The majority of his career at McCain Foods was in a management position working in Western Distribution and Packaging and Production.
In his retirement, Roy worked part-time with family driving truck for Towle Construction. Throughout his life, hard work and dedication earned him the respect of everyone who knew him.
Many will also have found memories of Roy from the days of The Dew Drop Inn, where he was co-owner with his big brother Bruce.
Roy enjoyed all sports playing hockey, baseball and in his adult years became an avid golfer.
Roy volunteered his time with Portage Minor Hockey as Category Coordinator, Tournament Chairman, President and Vice-President.
Roy was an enthusiastic supporter and follower of his children’s and grandchildren’s many sporting events and adventures. He very rarely missed the opportunity to be in the stands and was undoubtedly their #1 Fan.
For over 50 years, Roy was a very big supporter of the Portage Terriers, both as a fan and board member. He also enjoyed cheering on his beloved Winnipeg Jets.
Roy was happiest spending time outdoors; whether it was golfing with family and friends or tending to his perfectly maintained yard.
Roy was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his generous heart, sharp sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Roy’s laughter, love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations would be appreciated at the charity of one’s choice.
Well done Daddy, well done!

In keeping with Dad’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Saturday, November 29th at 1:00 p.m. (please bring a lawn chair is required)
Following the service everyone is invited to join the family at the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans Club for a time to share memories, laughs and celebrate this wonderful man.
