IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mayson Riley
Webber
April 9, 2001 – February 11, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Mayson Riley Webber on February 11th, 2025 at the age of 23 years. He will be lovingly remembered and honoured by his loving husband Benjamin VanLaar of 3 years, and their fur babies; Bailey, Shelby, and Sylvester, parents Jason and Brenda Webber; siblings; Haylie (Daniel), Taylor, and Kayle, nieces Rowan and Kayce, grandparents; Joe and Sharron Vassart, Jim and Judy Webber.
He will also be missed by his extended family; Jeff Vassart (Lori), children; Josh, Drew, and Tyson, Jonathan Webber (Nicole), children; Olivia and Jackson, as well as many great aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends.
Mayson was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on April 9th, 2001. He grew up and went to school in Portage and received his high school diploma from the Portage Collegiate Institute in 2019. Mayson’s love of trucks started at a young age, whether it was pushing a model on the floor, helping Grandpa Joe in the tractor, hopping in for a ride with Dad, or getting his Class 1 license as soon as he could to head out on the road. His time in the trucking industry took him coast to coast, from British Columbia to Prince Edward Island, and all the way south to El Paso, Texas. He met Ben in the spring of 2020, and the adventures continued with Ben getting his Class 1 to join Mayson in the truck. Because Mayson’s love for travelling was so contagious, him and Ben had their wedding in Mexico in January of 2022.
Mayson had a genuine soul and a fiery personality that drove him to accomplish anything he set his mind to. He put 110% into everything he did and was always there to lend a hand when needed. Though he didn’t show it much, he had a smile that would light up the room and if you were lucky enough to see it you were someone special to him. When he wasn’t in the truck exploring the world, he was at home watching a movie with Ben, visiting friends and family at the lake, or on Mom’s couch with the dogs.
In keeping with Mayson’s wishes there will be no formal service, a private family celebration will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Mayson may be made to Winnipeg Boxer Rescue, PO Box 26, Komarno, Manitoba, R0C1R0 or by e-transfer to boxerwiggles@yahoo.
