IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lisa Lorraine
Jimmo
February 7, 1956 – September 17, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Jimmo (née LaLonde) on September 17, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Lisa spent her formative years on the family farm in Oakville. In addition to her parents, Geraldine and George, and her sister, Sandra, her father’s brothers (“the uncles”) and aunt also resided on the farm. Growing up with loved ones close instilled in Lisa a deep appreciation for family — a value she carried throughout her life. Whether near or far, she cherished staying connected to those she held dear and created a home where others always felt welcome.
At the age of 17, Lisa followed the love of her life, John, to Edmonton. They married in 1974 and built a life together, including raising three children, Chris, Amy and Caitlin.
Lisa had a long and dedicated career as a civilian member with the Edmonton Police Service, retiring in 2021. Beyond her professional life, Lisa gave back generously to her community. She was deeply involved with the Horse Hill Community League, volunteering for many years and helping to build a stronger, more connected neighbourhood. In recognition of her outstanding service, she was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 — a testament to her generosity, leadership, and devotion to others.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John, and their children Christopher (Sarah Joy), Amy (Trevor), and Caitlin. She also leaves behind her sister Sandra Rempel, nephew David (Christine), great-niece Shaleiya, and great-nephew Ryker.
Lisa was blessed with a wonderful extended family, including her parents-in-law Jean and Morris, sisters-in-law Luanne (Shane) Chimney and Suzan, and brothers-in-law Tim (Susie) and Terry, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Geraldine LaLonde, and brothers-in-law James and Doug.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Alberta Health Services Palliative Care Team and the dedicated doctors and nurses at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Sturgeon General Hospital for their compassion and care during Lisa’s brief illness.
